The Bay View Massacre
On May 1st 1886 7,000 building-trades workers joined with 5,000 Polish laborers to strike against their employers, demanding an eight-hour work day.
With orders from Republican Governor Jeremiah M. Rusk to "shoot to kill"
the Militia shot dead Seven Workers on May 5th 1886 including a thirteen-year-old boy.
We remember our fallen Wisconsin comrades.
